The Rovers FC U13 Elite Programme is taking its next big step on the international stage! Following an incredible undefeated season in the Seychelles National League—scoring over 200 goals and producing 17 national selections—the talented squad is heading to France for a three-week tour that promises elite competition, learning opportunities, and global exposure.

The journey kicks off on June 1, as the squad departs for the renowned Madewis Cup (June 5–8)—a prestigious tournament featuring youth powerhouses like Juventus CF, Paris FC, and a Junior Premier League selection. This will be Rovers’ third consecutive French expedition, following standout performances in 2023 and 2024 against clubs like AC Milan, Dallas FC, Benfica, and Olympique de Marseille.

But that’s not all—after the Madewis Cup, the Rovers will face off in high-profile friendlies against Olympique Lyonnais and other top academies across southern France. These matchups will test their technical skills, tactical awareness, and mental toughness—skills honed over four years of intensive training, data-driven performance analysis, and international exposure.

The tour is more than just football—it’s a testament to Rovers’ commitment to player development. The club’s Elite Programme has been nurturing these players since age 8, with four weekly training sessions focused on technical mastery, physical conditioning, and tactical growth. The results? A national team pipeline of 17 elite players, outstanding performance in the SFF selection tests, and an undeniable presence on the European stage.

After the French tour wraps up on June 21, 17 players will remain in France for a five-week U13 national selection camp under the guidance of the SFF Technical Director, as part of FIFA’s Talent Development Scheme (TDS). The rest of the squad will return to Seychelles to continue their training and local competitions.

Changing room meeting

Rovers FC’s vision is clear: nurture homegrown talent, compete with the best, and inspire the next generation of football stars in Seychelles.

Stay tuned for updates on their journey, match results, and behind-the-scenes moments from the tour!
